Swampspace, an alternative art space in Miami’s Design District, is moving to a new location for its third time. The new space will double its size.

Artist Oliver Sanchez launched the space in 2008 after moving his studio from North Miami, according to the Miami Herald.

“Swampspace was created in response to a need for more community-minded art spaces and venues in the area,” says Sanchez.

Its new home is a storefront located at 3940 N. Miami Avenue near popular shops and restaurants. It is also near other nonprofit organizations, such as the Locust Projects, an established alternative art space, and the de la Cruz Collection, which shows work from the private collection of renowned collectors Carlos and Rosa de la Cruz.
