Broward commissioners to vote on Plantation apartment project

Broward County commissioners are scheduled to vote on a developer’s request to build 400 apartments in Plantation during Tuesday’s meeting.

Sunrise Properties & Investments wants to build the apartments on 16 acres at 6901 West Sunrise Boulevard. A vacant 50,097-square-foot office building is located on the land. Sunrise Properties asked commissioners to rezone the site from industrial to medium-density residential.

The company is managed by Blackpool Associates president William Murphy and M. Austin Forman, according to the South Florida Business Journal. [SFBJ] — Eric Kalis
