West Boca legacy shopping center sold for $12.3M

A family heirloom that also held the distinction of being one of the first signs of growth in Boca Raton changed hands.

The Shoppes at Village Point, which was owned by Boca Raton businesswoman and philanthropist Yvonne Boice and built in 1986, was sold on Monday for $12.3 million to Boca SVP LLC.The buyer is an affiliate of Joge Investments, which is based in Tamarac.

Boice witnessed the completion of the shopping center shortly after her husband passed way and oversaw its expansion to a property that covers 85,593 square feet on seven acres. Her company, Boice’s Shoppes on 18th Street, is listed as the seller, according to the South Florida Business Journal.

Outback Steakhouse, the Boca Raton Tribune, Aldo’s Cleaners and Boca Dance Studio are among the notable tenants on site. [South Florida Business Journal] — Andy Kent
