A new custom-built structure may soon replace a 1920s-era house at 540 South Ocean Boulevard in the Estate Section of Palm Beach – the address has recently been changed to 101 Via Marina. Architectural commissioners are reviewing the plans on Friday.

Businessman Peter Wood wants to raze the home, which he acquired from billionaire philanthropist Jon Stryker for $22.9 million last May, according to the Palm Beach Daily News.

If Wood gets his way, a two-story Palladian-style residence featuring a partial basement and two-story guesthouse will replace the current home. Harold Smith of Smith and Moore Architects are handling the design. [Palm Beach Daily News]Christopher Cameron
