West Palm Beach taps Miami HUD official

West Palm Beach Mayor Jeri Muoio has hired a new housing department chief. Armando Fana, who leaves a job as director of U.S. Housing and Urban Development’s Miami field office, will take up the post.

“Nobody knows the rules better,” Muoio told the Palm Beach Post.

Fana will answer directly to Muoio, which reflects West Palm’s current struggle to bring its housing department into compliance with HUD rules.
