Pelican Grand embarks on $5M remodel

Sometimes even a pelican can rise like a phoenix.

In this case, the Pelican Grand Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale has begun $5 million worth of renovations to double its meeting space and add new features. The 156-room boutique resort is getting a 12th floor for the penthouse with a 65-foot terrace, private elevator and private dining room for guests. Other projects will create a spa area on the 11th floor called Spa Sweden.

Also on the 11th floor will be a new ballroom and terrace to host up to 100 for weddings and other events. Another ballroom is set to open on the first floor for smaller gatherings and events. [South Florida Business Journal] – Jennifer White Karp
