Brokers beef up with Krav Maga

Last month, the body of a missing Arkansas real estate agent was found. Since then, self-defense trainer Don Melnick’s phone has been ringing off the hook as brokers began preparing for the worst.

“It got a lot of peoples’ red flags going up and they started to get very concerned,” Melnick told Philly.com.

Now Melnick, who owns a branch of Krav Maga self-defense training in New Jersey, is launching a defense class specifically for real estate professionals.

“We’re teaching practical self-defense techniques,” Melnick said. “We want them to feel that they can do their jobs effectively.”

The 90-minute class, focuses on a new theme each session, such as safety during open houses, meeting a new client and general awareness.
