New Aloft hotel to land in Miami-Dade

Aloft, the hotel brand from W Hotels, will be touching down again in Miami Dade County between Doral and Miami International Airport.

According to the South Florida Business Journal, the county received an application to build a six-story 125-room Aloft hotel with 9,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space at 7220 Northwest 36th Street. The project, which would have two buildings, would also include a pool and parking for 300.

Aloft has hotels or is planning them in Miami Beach, Brickell, Midtown and Coral Gables.

The 4.9-acre site was purchased for $5.8 million in June, according to the report. [South Florida Business Journal] – Jennifer White Karp
