A 100-unit mixed-use development went before the Fort Lauderdale planning and zoning board this week.

Premier Riva’s $70 million Riva Residences would be built on 15,000 square feet at 1180 North Federal Highway. The project would be a redevelopment of a vacant hotel on two acres, according to published reports.

Premier Riva paid $1.8 million for the property back in May 2014, the South Florida Business Journal reported. McLaughlin Engineering Co. is working with the developer. [South Florida Business Journal] — Kristina Puga
