The 14,000-square-foot unit will open in November, according to a press release. It will house eight beds and include a family room, kitchen, quiet room and spa area.

Local health care professionals, business and community leaders, and VITAS executives attended the groundbreaking for the project at 5912 Atlantic Avenue. VITAS acquired the 2-acre site for $1.65 million in August 2014, according to Palm Beach County records.  — Katherine Kallergis and Sean Stewart-Muniz
