A new Walmart Neighborhood market will be developed in Davie, Boca Raton-based Atlantic Commercial Group announced this week.

The Walmart is planned for the site on the southeast corner of Pine Island Road and Stirling Road in Davie. The 11.2-acre land sold this week to retail developer Gatlin Development, which received a $13.3 million loan from City National Bank for the site.

David Lipp, principal of Atlantic Commercial Group, represented Walmart in the long-term lease. The 39,000-square-foot store will anchor the planned Pine Island Marketplace, which will have an additional 27,000 square feet.

Walmart has one other store in Davie, at 4301 South University Drive.

Gatlin has developed shopping centers in California, Minnesota, Tennessee and Wisconsin. In Florida, the company has 11 properties, including the planned 37-acre Riverbend Marketplace in Fort Lauderdale. — Katherine Kallergis
