Two days after claiming Donald Trump’s anti-Muslim comments would have no impact on their business partnership, a major Dubai developer is removing the GOP front-runner’s photos from advertising billboards in the wealthy emirate.

A photo of the Trump swinging a golf club is no longer on the billboard at Damac Properties’ Akoya development site, where the developer is building a golf course and a large residential development. The “Trump International Golf Course” name (predictably in gold letters) was also reportedly removed from the project’s gate, according to The National. Damac licensed Trump International’s name for the project.

“We cannot comment on the situation,” Raed Gerges, vice president of communications for Damac, told the newspaper. “Obviously you can see what has happened, but I have no comment on it. We will replace the images but I cannot say what the images will be yet.”

On Monday, Trump had called for all Muslims to be banned from entering the U.S. A Damac spokesperson initially claimed that his comments would have no impact on the business relationship.  Damac shares fell 3.6 percent Wednesday, their seventh straight decline. [The National] – Konrad Putzier
