David Roberts of Royal Palm Properties represented both the buyer and sellers. Roberts ranked as Palm Beach County’s top residential broker in 2023, with more than $349.8 million in on-market deals. He is the go-to broker for Steve and Scott Dingle of SRD Building, homebuilders who specialize in the Royal Palm community.

The O’Hares commissioned the Dingles to build the 9,600-square-foot Thatch Palm Drive mansion, which was completed last year, records show. They bought the half-acre property for $5 million in 2021, records show. The newly completed mansion has six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, three half-bathrooms, a library and a clubroom, according to the listing. The home was sold fully furnished, the listing shows.

The couple initially listed the mansion for $22.8 million in 2022, then dropped the price to $20 million in December, Redfin shows.

This isn’t the first time the O’Hares have sold a spec house in Royal Palm. In 2020, they sold a spec mansion to Cumberland Farms scion Byron G. Haseotes Jr. for $11 million

Royal Palm is one of Boca Raton’s most coveted gated golf communities, and has been home to some of the city’s priciest residential sales in recent years. Last month, senior care CEO Peter Norden sold a spec mansion built by Steve and Scott Dingle for $16.9 million. In January, the wife of Conair heir Leandro Rizzuto Jr. flipped a house for $8 million. In October, spec builder Jeff Norman bought a waterfront teardown for $23.5 million
