In the latest roundup of South Florida real estate hiring news, firms are taking advantage of the slow summer season.
West Palm Beach-based real estate private equity firm Township Capital hired Jonathan Sparacio as director of finance, a press release shows. Sparacio joins the firm from KKR in New York City, where he was a vice president for two years. In his new role, Sparacio will focus on connecting clients with investments, the release shows.
Matthew Gorelik founded Township Capital in 2014, and has focused his portfolio on student housing, senior living facilities and technology fulfillment centers, the release shows. He relocated Township Capital to West Palm Beach from Los Angeles this year.
In Miami, commercial brokerage Lee & Associates brought in Oscar Musibay as a vice president specializing in office landlord agency and tenant representation, according to a press release. Musibay previously worked on site acquisition for the Deering Companies, but has spent most of his career in media and public relations. Musibay was a real estate reporter for the South Florida Business Journal for seven years until he pivoted to public relations in 2013, according to LinkedIn.
In the residential brokerage world, Bonnie Heatzig left Douglas Elliman after three years to join Compass in Boca Raton, a press release shows. Heatzig was with Bex Realty for 17 years, until Compass acquired the Boca Raton-based firm in 2021 and she moved to Elliman. Heatzig has sold more than $170 million in real estate over the last four years.
The law firm McDonald Hopkins brought in Jaime Coco as counsel for its business department and real estate practice group in West Palm Beach, a press release shows. Coco previously had her own real estate law practice based in Miami for 15 years, and specializes in real estate transaction and litigation across asset types, according to the release.
