Palm Beach County’s property values are not falling as much as appraisers had expected. One appraiser projected a 7 percent drop in taxable value from last year, but a report issued today showed the decline to be about 5.5 percent, which means local governments will have some more money in next year’s budget. Palm Beach County commissioners planned to cut $47 million from the $4 billion budget proposal, and the new estimate will give them about $8 million more.
