Goldberg offers free rent to laid-off tenants

Apartment owner Goldberg Companies is offering two months’ free rent to tenants in its Florida apartments if they lose their jobs. Goldberg tenants in Ohio, North Carolina and Texas will also be able to participate in the “Layoff-Proof Lease” program, which begins Saturday. Tenants need to have signed a 12-month lease and made three rent payments to qualify, and they will be allowed to back out of the lease after receiving their two months’ free rent.
