Imprisoned Boca Raton property baron James Batmasian, scheduled for release from federal prison on May 27, could return to a West Palm Beach or Dania Beach halfway house if the Bureau of Prisons approve, said Bruce Zimet, Batmasian’s defense attorney. In April 2008, Batmasian pleaded guilty to a felony for failing to pay the government $250,000 in federal withholding tax. At the time, Batmasian was downtown Boca Raton’s largest commercial property owner.
