Once a beach town whose main street, Atlantic Avenue, was full of
boarded-up businesses in the 1990s, Delray Beach is now thriving as a
cultural and social hub for southern Palm Beach County. Mike Malone,
the new president and CEO of the Greater Delray Beach Chamber of
Commerce, who assumed office in January, plans to market the city to
attract tourism and the relocation of corporate headquarters to Delray
Beach. Malone said he would
work to keep the community involvement in development that is a signature of Delray Beach, while working to increase economic growth. [Sun Sentinel]
