Greene sues two Florida papers

Jeff Greene, the former real estate developer who ran an unsuccessful
campaign for the Democratic Senate nomination against Kendrick Meek, is
now suing two Florida papers, the St. Petersburg Times and the Miami
Herald, for libel. Greene is seeking at least $500 million in damages
due largely to rumors about wild parties aboard his yacht and allegedly
fraudulent real estate transactions. The articles include articles in
the Times and the Herald, and a Times editorial urging a federal
investigation into Greene’s business activities. [NYT]
