Canadian buyers represent the second-largest percentage of foreign investors acquiring South Florida real estate, according to a report from the Miami Association of Realtors. Buyers from Calgary, Montreal, Toronto and other Canadian cities represent about 10 percent of foreigners buying properties in the region. “Canadian investors have historically purchased in South Florida for the same reasons that U.S. buyers acquire properties in the tricounty region: the weather during the winter,” said Peter Zalewski, founder of Condo Vultures. TRD
