“Green” furniture showroom opens in Boca

City Furniture’s new $12 million Boca Raton showroom, which is angling for LEED Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, made its debut today along Interstate I-95. If approved, it would be the fourth LEED-certified furniture showroom in the country. City Furniture is closing three smaller South Florida stores and folding those operations into its larger Boca location, at 3350 Airport Road. The 93,680-square-foot complex, which also houses an Ashley Furniture showroom, has rooftop solar tubes, LED interior and exterior lighting and energy-efficient air conditioning. [Sun Sentinel]
