New discipline case opened against foreclosure attorney David Stern

Foreclosure attorney David Stern is back in court — but not by choice. A new discipline case was opened against him in the Florida Supreme Court over his alleged failure to comply with previous court orders, the South Florida Business Journal reported.

Stern was referred by the 5th District Court of Appeal after he apparently violated a Feb. 16 court order to produce a mediation questionnaire relating to a foreclosure appeal case.

Stern previously consented to reprimands for deceiving courts in 2002.

His legal firm closed in March of this year after it fell under investigation for allegedly forging paperwork. [SFBJ]
