Philippe, a Chinese eatery which is backed by several celebrities,
including former Miami Heat star Alonzo Mourning, is set to open at an
11,000-square-foot location in Boca Raton. “We offer a unique form of
Beijing cooking that you don’t really see in this market,” said Philippe
CEO Stratis Morfogen. “We wanted to bring something different, bring in
something that was missing.” The restaurant is filling the space
vacated by III Forks, which shuttered in the beginning of June.
According to Morfogen, the lower rents in Boca provide an advantage.
Philippe also recently announced it would be moving to the former
Taverna Opa space on Ocean Drive in Miami Beach. [Sun
