Mediterranean eatery Milos to open in Miami

With a host of new ethnic restaurants moving into the South of Fifth neighborhood of Miami, the area may be losing its reputation as being a destination only for steakhouses, Eater.com reported.

Since the departure of Au Pied de Cochon from 81 Washington Street, there’ve been rumors as to who the new tenant might be. Some suggested Japanese restaurant Morimoto or Mexican eatery Rosa Mexicano. Now, the tenant has been revealed as Milos, a branch of the New York City-, Athens- and Montreal-based Mediterranean restaurant.

Across the street, another French restaurant will be arriving shortly after a $50,000 renovation of the space.

As for Geronimo, the bar slated to open in the old radio station, the owner is apparently having trouble obtaining a liquor license. [Eater]
