New Marlins park on track

The new Marlins stadium, 8,300-ton-retractable roof and all, is on track
for completion, and its exterior skin should be finished by September.
By March, the stadium should be hosting spring training games. “We’re
happy — we’re on schedule and on budget,” said Team President David
Samson. “We need to get through hurricane season.” The park, which is
being financed with $460 million of public money, could create more than
2,000 jobs at its location in northern Little Havana. [Miami
