Florida Atlantic University’s new College of Engineering and Computer
Science building has been rated LEED Platinum by the U.S. Green
Buildings Council. The 97,000-square-foot project contains FAU’s
computer science, electrical and other programs at its Boca Raton
campus. The project includes several high-level energy-saving properties,
including a 40 percent reduction of water consumption and geothermal
wells that capture heat from groundwater to provide a constant
temperature for the property. [SFBJ]
