Miami’s residential housing market is largely surpassing the rest of the
nation, as buyers flock to coastal markets like South Florida. “We are
outperforming the nation by far,” said Ralph De Martino, president of
Ocean International Realty. Data from the Miami Association of Realtors
show that since 2009, Florida is in the number one spot nationwide in
home sales to international buyers, followed by California. “In
comparison with the rest of the country, the coastal regions of our
nation, as well as the desert, are doing better on a percentage basis
than many other interior markets,” said EWM President Ron Shuffield. “We
have a considerable number of international buyers and second-home
buyers.” [Miami
