Following the announcement of a lawsuit brought by the Realtor Association of Greater Fort Lauderdale over allegedly improper advertising by the Miami Association
of Realtors, the Miami organization released a statement denying the
allegations and calling the move “disappointing.” “This lawsuit seems to
be a reaction to healthy competition in the marketplace — and our
association offering more and better services at lower costs — to the
benefit of thousands of Realtors.” MAR said its membership numbers,
which list a total of 25,600, were accurate. “We are always accurate,
ethical and professional in all of our business practices, including our
advertising and promotion,” the group said, vowing to “vigorously
defend the lawsuit.” — Alexander Britell

I’m curious what exactly the lawsuit is over. I can say that I am 1 of about 10 agents from a Ft. Lauderdale-based office who transferred from RAGFL to MAR last year because we found it to be a better deal. I doubt we were the only ones.

Yes, I’d be curious too. I too am from Broward and transferred from RAGFL to MAR 4 years ago because RAGFL was more expensive and had very poor service. MAR has always been much more affordable, has excellent service and offers excellent communication and classes. I would never switch back and am glad I changed!

I don’t believe the term “improper” was mentioned. Miami Realtors are being accused of false and deceptive advertising, a very serious situation.
