The Timeshare Resale Accountability Act, a bill sponsored by Florida Rep. Eric Eisnaugle (R-Orlando) has been approved by the Business and Consumer Affairs subcommittee in the Florida House of Representatives, according to the Palm Beach Post. The bill targets an increasingly frequent kind of fraud in the state, wherein telemarketers deceive timeshare owners into thinking they have found buyers for their properties, only to make off with the closing and title fees. The new bill would mean that these companies would be required to give owners a name and address of the claimed buyer. [Palm Beach Post]
