Miami’s hotel market is seeing a new boom, according to Forbes, most recently highlighted by Donald Trump’s acquisition last week of the Doral Golf Resort. “Miami is coming back swinging,” said Ivanka Trump, who thinks the Doral resort will be a draw for many of those staying in Miami’s soon-to-open hotels. “The reality is that all the people staying in the new hotels will come to us to play golf, including the Miami community.” Bal Harbour recently saw the debut of the St. Regis hotel, and Miami Beach has several on the way, including the Lord Balfour South Beach, the SLS Hotel South Beach and the Lennox Hotel, all of which are scheduled to open in the next two years. Marriott, too, is planning to open an Edition hotel in Miami Beach in 2013. [Forbes]
