Palm Beach couple files fourth application to build second floor of home

Palm Beach residents Ronald and Judith Berk have tried and failed three times to get the Palm Beach Architectural Commission to approve their plan to build a second story for their home on Tangier Avenue, the Palm Beach Daily News reported. Now, the Berks’ plan is once again going before ARCOM, after a plea for the Town Council to approve their plan despite ARCOM’s objection failed Wednesday. The most recent vote was 4-3 against the Berks, with Chairman Bob Vila (of “This Old House” fame) voting against the Berks. According to Vila, his vote came because the Berks did not submit renderings of the plan until this week. Now, the changed designs are “favorable,” he said. [Palm Beach Daily News]
