The Real Deal Miami

Miami-Dade Transit has officially opened the new Miami International Airport station of the Metrorail. The service’s 23rd station is a 2.4-mile extension to MIA, running parallel to State Road 112 and crossing the Miami River. “This is a big step in the right direction for public transportation in our community,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez. The MIA Station will eventually connect passengers to the Miami Central Station, which is slated for completion in 2013. – Alexander Britell
