Government searches for new uses for Miami’s David Dyer Courthouse

The Spanish-Mediterranean revival David W. Dyer Federal Courthouse in Miami has been empty since 2008, when the new Wilkie D. Ferguson, Jr. U.S. Courthouse was completed. Now, the U.S. General Services Administration is looking for new uses for the old building, according to the South Florida Business Journal. The 1.6-acre property, which was built in 1933, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and development options are therefore limited. Over the last year, the U.S. government has sold or transferred 97 properties valued at a total of $82 million. [SFBJ] — Christopher Cameron
