The developer that had proposed a shopping center in Horse Country to locals’ chagrin has dropped its plans, the Miami Herald reported. Pan-American had asked for Miami-Dade County and the County Commission to change its Comprehensive Development Master Plan to allow for business and office development in the southeast corner of Miller Drive and Southwest 127th Avenue.

But at the West Kendall Community Council vote on September 27, more than 300-hundred residents turned out to oppose the development. The Council voted 4-2, recommending that the County Commission reject Pan-American’s proposal. The firm has decided to no longer asking for the changes. [Miami Herald]Christopher Cameron
