Affordable housing developer Carlisle and Miami-Dade County officials oversaw the recent demolition to clear way for the planned 7th Avenue Transit Village in Liberty City. The $75 million project is a two-phased development that will provide between 150 and 200 affordable housing units for low-income families. The first, $40 million phase will include a residential tower with around 80 units including a transit hub and a bus terminal, along with commercial space. The second, $35 million phase will mean a second residential tower featuring approximately 100 units. “This is an effective public-private partnership between Carlisle and Miami-Dade County that will provide safe, affordable housing that will reinvigorate the area,” said Matthew Greer, CEO of Carlisle. — Alexander Britell
