The number of single-family home sales in the town of Palm Beach rose 40.7 percent in the third quarter compared to the same period in 2011, according to the latest Evans Report by attorney Leslie Robert Evans. There were a total of 38 single-family sales in the third quarter, up from 27 sales in the third quarter of 2011. The dollar sales volume of single-family homes increased to $190.3 million in the third quarter from $115.4 million in the third quarter of 2011. “The third quarter sales seemingly reflected buyer confidence that the market is improving, as the number of sales would have decreased had buyers thought the market was still weak,” Evans said. The average single-family sales price rose 17 percent to just over $5 million. — Alexander Britell
