Fort Myers City Council weighs waterfront hotel and event center project

The Fort Myers City Council will get an update on the proposed Harborside event center and hotel project in Fort Myers at a 2 p.m. meeting today, the Press News reported.

Sarasota-based developer John Meshad has proposed a 175-room hotel along the Fort Myers waterfront; Fort Myers Mayor Randy Henderson has said the development should be larger — closer to 225 rooms, the paper said.
