Venezuela’s Eurobuilding Hotels Group has opened its first U.S. property, the EB Hotel Miami just north of Miami International Airport, the Miami Herald reported.
The former office building at 4299 NW 46th St. in Miami Springs has been converted into an upscale, six-floor, 133-room hotel targeting business travelers with marble floors and plush carpeting, the Herald said.
“It’s giving that experience of being a high-end luxury hotel with the convenience of being right next to the airport,” the hotel’s general manager, Thomas Zarikian, told the Herald.
With average rates of $150 per night, the hotel also boasts a pool, fitness center and free WiFi. A salon and spa — and slightly higher room rates — are to come after a planned grand opening in December, the newspaper reported.
The family-owned Eurobuilding Hotels Group has properties in Venezuela and Argentina and plans to open a location in New York City in the next few years.
“Once we have this hotel up and running and we develop a brand, then we’ll go to New York,” Zarikian was quoted as saying. “Miami’s our gateway into the U.S.” [Miami Herald] — Emily Schmall
