The former CEO of Jeffrey Soffer’s Turnberry Residential successfully got the company’s lawsuit against him dismissed.

Miami-Dade Circuit Judge John W. Thornton tossed Turnberry’s complaint against Bruce Weiner last week, South Florida Business Journal reported. The company had claimed Weiner violated his fiduciary duties by agreeing to manage St. Regis Bal Harbour in the 2010 lawsuit. Turnberry wanted a share of the profits from that arrangement.

Thornton ruled the language of Weiner’s agreement with Turnberry did not prohibit him from accepting the St. Regis deal. Weiner had already left the company when we took on the St. Regis job.

Turnberry has appealed the ruling. Weiner’s countersuit against the company and Soffer is pending. [South Florida Business Journal]Eric Kalis
