With the Miami Science Museum moving to its new building in Museum Park, the former museum site is seeing plans to be restored to its original use: a farm.

Once the science museum moves, the land will be under the control of the neighboring Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, according to Curbed.

The current plan – a simplification of a much more idealized pervious plan – is by architect Richard Heisenbottle, and includes a small farm for museum uses, demolition of the science museum building, and the creation of a large green space.

Originally, Heisenbottle’s plans included orchards, an underground parking structure, and a trolley. [Curbed]Christopher Cameron
