Hotels across South Florida saw a strong February, with Broward County seeing a 90 percent occupancy rate, the highest since 2008.

“Mother Nature has become a marketing partner,” Convention & Visitors Bureau president Nicki Grossman said. “Once our visitors thaw out, they are enjoying a destination with new appeal, including foodie experiences, live music, underground entertainment, gaming, and more.”

In Miami-Dade hotels were 86.5 percent full in February, with an average rate of $237.69, according to data released from Smith Travel Research cited by the Sun-Sentinel. And in Palm Beach County, hotels were 90 percent occupied during the same month, with an average daily rate of $216. [Sun-Sentinel] Christopher Cameron
