Brazil consulate finds bigger space in Coral Gables

Amid a surge of Brazilian tourism and real estate investment in Miami, the Consulate General of Brazil is relocating from its office in Brickell to a bigger space in Coral Gables to accommodate the agency’s growth.

Steve and Eric Gaunt of real estate advisory firm Cresa South Florida represented the consulate in the lease for 24,518 square feet at 3150 Miami Green Way, Globe St. reported. The agency currently leases space at 80 Southwest Eighth Street, according to its online profile.

The firm searched for two years for an appropriate space. The U.S. State Department, Brazil’s foreign missions department and lawmakers all needed to approve the agency’s new home.

The 13-story, 116,000-square-foot Miami Green office building was the optimal choice for its proximity to the Metrorail, Gables Trolley, Metro Dade Bus Station and Miami International Airport, brokers told the website.

Asking rents at Miami Green range from nearly $30 to $34 per square foot, data from commercial property website Showcase indicates.
