Vote on Jupiter development postponed

Jupiter Council members postponed a vote on the proposed Lakewood development until next month.

Following two hours of debate, the Town Council opted to delay a decision on the 275-residence project until its June 17 meeting. Developer Otto “Buzz” DiVosta wants to construct the residences, a restaurant, pharmacy and biotech research space on 260 acres at the northwest corner of Indiantown Road and Florida’s Turnpike.

Council members did approve a zoning change from low density to commercial and residential uses at the Lakewood site, according to the Palm Beach Post. The June 17 vote would be on modifications to town regulations on building, lighting, setbacks and rights of way for streets surrounding the development.

A second council vote is needed before construction can commence. [Palm Beach Post]Eric Kalis
