The developers of the proposed Palm Harbor Marina hotel asked West Palm Beach commissioners to delay voting on the project until next month.

This is the second time in two weeks the developers of the 75-foot, 108-room Marriott-branded hotel requested a delay. Attorney Samuel Poole, who represents the developers, said his clients are attempting to satisfy the concerns of residents of the adjacent Waterview Towers. Many of the residents are against the hotel design.

West Palm Beach commissioners were slated to vote on the project on Monday. If they approve the latest request, a vote would be held during the commission’s July 7 meeting, according to the Palm Beach Post.

The owner of the marina claims that two-thirds of the Waterview unit owners must approve any project higher than 75 feet on the Palm Harbor site. That is based on a 99-year lease the city granted the owner for the marina and hotel property in 1979. [Palm Beach Post]Eric Kalis
