With a waiting list of more than 3,000 potential buyers, GL Homes plans to hold a lottery for its Tuscany development near Delray Beach.

Sunrise-based GL is slated to have the lottery for most of the 454 single-family homes on July 12. The homebuilder is launching sales for the project on the north side of Atlantic Avenue, east of Florida’s Turnpike. Prices range from the low $300,000s to the $400,000s.

Buyers have camped out on GL’s project sites in the past, so the company hopes to eliminate the need for that with the lottery, according to the Sun-Sentinel. The initial wave of Tuscany homes are expected to be ready in September or October 2015.

“In this part of Palm Beach County for the first-time homebuyer, there’s basically nothing available unless you go to a townhome,” GL division president Marcie DePlaza said. [Sun-Sentinel]Eric Kalis
