Some 4,000 coastal condo units to rise in Broward

With housing on an upswing, Broward County developers are planning more than 4,000 coastal condo units, new data shows.

That is roughly double the number of units completed, under construction or planned from the previous year, according to Condo Vultures data cited by the Sun-Sentinel.

Despite the dramatic increase, some analysts wonder whether that is enough to satisfy demand.

“People don’t want the hassle of mowing the lawn or maintaining the roof,” said Dennis Eisinger, co-developer of a handful of boutique condos in Las Olas Isles, east of downtown. “And right now it makes much more sense to buy than rent.” [Sun-Sentinel]Christopher Cameron
