A New York investor spent $12.5 million on a church property just north of Miami’s Design District, The Real Deal has learned.

The company, 4201 NE 2nd Ave LLC, acquired the nearly two-acre parcel in a transaction recorded on Monday, according to Miami-Dade County records. State corporate records link the company to Helm Equities, a Manhattan developer. No financing was recorded.

Southeastern Conference Association of Seventh-Day Adventists is the seller. The nonprofit owned the 23,534-square-foot church building for 24 years before this week’s sale to the Helm-managed company. The 4201 Northeast Second Avenue building was originally constructed in 1956.

The building was most recently the home of the Jerusalem French Seventh Day Adventist Church.
