Foreclosures still on the decline across South Florida

New foreclosure filings remain on the decline across South Florida, according to RealtyTrac data.

Palm Beach County had 363 new cases filed in July, down 3 percent from a year ago. And filings dropped 60 percent countywide from January through July compared with the same period the year before.

In Broward County there were 3,699 new cases filed from January through July, down 56 percent from a year earlier.

Nevertheless, Florida still had the nation’s highest foreclosure rate in July — for the 10th consecutive month — with one in 469 homes in some stage of the process. [Sun-Sentinel]Christopher Cameron
