Aventura’s Prive 50% sold despite legal battle

Despite a sidewalk dispute with nearby homeowners, the residences at Prive at Island Estates is 50-percent sold.

Sales for the twin 16-story towers have totaled $75 million over the past 75 days. A lawsuit between the developers and nearby homeowners had hurt presales and halted construction, according to a previous report. Developers declined to comment on the lawsuit.

At a Sept. 22 Miami-Dade County Circuit Court hearing, developer Gary Cohen said nearly half of the 77 unit reservations chose not to proceed with their contracts and recovered their deposits.

The Aventura condo project, led by Cohen and developer BH3, will have 160 units ranging in size from 2,585 square feet to more than 9,000 square feet, according to a news release. All units will come with a private elevator entry, balconies and outdoor summer kitchens. — Katherine Kallergis
