The 83-story Panorama Tower in Brickell will feature expansive views from the top floor – reportedly all the way to Bimini.

The $800 million building – the tallest on the East Coast outside New York – is to rise to 830 feet after the Federal Aviation Administration lopped off 19 feet from the original plan, Miami Today reported. The developer hopes the agency will relent and will allow the increased height.

Dean Warhaft, vice president and development coordinator of Tibor Hollo’s Florida East Coast Realty, told Miami Today that residents on the top floors should be able to make out the lights of Bimini, the westernmost part of The Bahamas, more than 50 miles from Miami.

Warhaft said construction on the building, which will include a medical facility, a 2,000-car garage and a 208-room hotel is three months ahead of schedule. The project is due for completion in the third quarter of 2017. [Miami Today]William J. Gorta
